How to edit or delete pins on Pinterest
Deleting pins or deleting a pin you created on Pinterest is fairly easy. The same goes for editing pins if you do not want to delete any specific pins yet. However, it is important to note to only delete pins that you are sure you do not want anymore because Pinterest cannot restore deleted pins anymore – they will be permanently gone.
If you want to learn how to delete unwanted pins, Pinterest made an official guide. This process is the same for both the desktop browser and Pinterest app:
- Log into your Pinterest account
- Click your profile picture in the top-right of your screen
- Click into a board (assuming you already created Pinterest boards), then into a section if that’s where you saved the Pin
- Click on a Pin to open it
- Click the three dots
- Click Edit pin
- Click Delete in the bottom-left corner
- Click Delete Pin to confirm
To edit pins both on the desktop and mobile app:
- Log into your Pinterest account
- Click your profile picture in the top-right of your screen
- Click into a board, then into a section if that’s where you saved the Pin
- Click on a Pin to open it
- Click the three dots
- Select Edit Pin
- Edit the Pin’s board, section, title, description, website, etc.
- Click Save to save your changes
Another helpful thing to note is that according to Pinterest, if you saved a Pin from an image you found on the web, you can only edit the board and section where the Pin is saved.
Can You Delete Multiple Pins at Once?
If you want know how to delete pins in bulk, do note that you can only delete multiple pins on Pinterest at once inside a specific Pinterest board and not from your pins feed or page.
To delete several pins or bulk delete pins in one go, go to the board with the pins you want to delete. After that, click “Organize”.
If you are on a browser, you can go ahead and start selecting the pins you want to remove.
If you are on a mobile device, click “Select or reorder Pins” and then select the pins you want to remove.
After that, just click the Trash icon at the bottom of the screen and your selected pins are deleted.
How to delete scheduled Pins on Pinterest
The good thing about the Pinterest Native Scheduler is that you can still edit or delete your scheduled pins.
To delete the Pins you’ve already scheduled, click the Created tab at the top of your screen. You’ll see your scheduled Pins above all of your published Pins.
Click the three dots icon at the bottom of the Pin you’d like to delete and select Delete.
You can also click on the pin and you will also see the Delete button from there.
If you scheduled your pins using any third-party Pinterest schedulers, you will need to find the pin in your schedule and delete it there, not on Pinterest. Unless your pin has been already published, in which case you should look for it on Pinterest itself.

What happens when you delete an entire board?
When you decide to delete one of your Pinterest boards, you also delete and permanently lose the pins and followers of that board.
Since you will also be losing the followers of that board, make sure you think twice before deleting a whole entire Pinterest board because you will not be able to retrieve the board and content back anymore!
How to archive pins and boards
If you want to remove unwanted pins or boards from your Pinterest account but you are scared to permanently lose those content, then the best way to hide pins and boards from your profile without removing content permanently is by archiving!
Archived boards will not show up in your public profile and you will not be able to save Pins to it. You can unarchive pins and boards at any time.
To archive a board and the pins in that specific board, just go to the Pinterest you want to hide and click the three dots next to the board name. You will see there the option “Archive”.
You will see your archived boards at the very bottom of your boards list with the tag or name “Archived”. You can unarchive any time.
Reasons to delete a pin
Now that you know how to keep your Pinterest account clean by removing or deleting pins, I would like to give you three valuable advice or reasons when deleting a pin permanently or removing boards is absolutely necessary:
- You have uploaded content that goes against Pinterest’s community guidelines. Pinterest can get your account banned or suspended when they see spammy or suspicious activity on your account.
- The blog or website redirecting from that pin does not exist anymore. I mean, why would you want to let users visit a nonexistent page, right?
- You have a typo on the Pin image you used.
If you find this post useful or want to get back to it later, just save this PIN to your Pinterest board.
