Reasons to contact Pinterest

Before diving into how to contact Pinterest, it’s helpful to know why you might need to reach out to them. Here are some common reasons:

  • Account Issues: If you’re having trouble logging into your account, forgot your password, or think your account has been hacked, you’ll need to get in touch with Pinterest.
  • Technical Problems: Sometimes, the platform might not work like usual or you may experience bugs. Maybe pins aren’t loading, boards are disappearing, or the Pinterest app is crashing. These are technical issues that Pinterest can help resolve for you.
  • Account Suspension: Another reason to contact the Pinterest team is that your account may have been flagged or suspended without you doing anything that is against their rules. You can read my article about Pinterest Account Suspension for more details.
  • Reporting Content: If you come across content on the platform’s website that violates Pinterest’s guidelines, like inappropriate images, spam, or offensive language, you may want to report it.
  • Billing or Ad Problems: If you’re using Pinterest for business, you might run into billing issues or need help with your advertisements.
  • General Questions: You might have a question about how to use a feature or need advice on how to fully make use of Pinterest to get the most engagement.

Ways to Contact Pinterest

There really is no direct contact information or phone number available to go to if you want to contact Pinterest. However, there are several other ways on how you can reach out to the platform’s support team. Here are some recommendations:

1. Help Center

The best way to resolve your Pinterest problem quickly is through their Help Center. Pinterest has a detailed Help Center where you can find answers to the most common questions. Their list answers concerns for both Personal account and Pinterest Business account.

Here’s how to use it:

  1. Visit the Help Center: Go to help.pinterest.com.
  2. Search for Your Issue: Use the search bar at the top to type in your question or issue. For example, you could type “reset password” if you can’t log in.
  3. Browse by Topic: If you’re not sure what to search for, you can browse topics like “Account basics,” “Using Pinterest,” or “Fix a problem.”

The Help Center is the fastest way to get answers without waiting for a response from the support team. They also have another page mainly for press requests: https://newsroom.pinterest.com/contact/

Pinterest’s Help Center is available on both browser and on the Pinterest mobile application.

2. Pinterest Support Request Form

If you can’t find an answer in the Help Center, you can submit a support request directly to Pinterest. This form allows you to describe your problem and get help from a Pinterest support agent. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Support Form: Visit the Help Center, scroll to the bottom, and look for a link that says “Contact us” or “Still need help?” This will take you to the support request form. You can also go to this link.
  2. Select Your Concern: The form will ask you to choose a category that best describes your issue, such as “Account access” or “Technical issue.”
  3. Fill Out the Form: Provide details about your problem. The more specific you are, the easier it will be for Pinterest’s support team to help you. Include screenshots if possible.
  4. Submit the Form: After filling out the form, submit it and wait for a response. Pinterest usually replies via email, so keep an eye on your inbox.

3. Social Media Channels

Pinterest also has a presence on various social media platforms. While this isn’t the most direct way to get help, it can be useful if you’re having trouble reaching them through other methods. Here’s how to contact Pinterest via social media:

  1. Twitter / X: You can tweet at Pinterest’s support account, @AskPinterest. Be sure to mention your issue in your tweet, and they may be able to help address your issue.
  2. Facebook: Pinterest has an official Facebook page but they do not have the Message button available anymore. However, you can comment on one of their posts and other Pinterest users can reply and help you.
  3. Instagram: Although not as common, you can try sending a direct message to Pinterest’s official Instagram account, @pinterest.

Remember to keep your messages brief and to the point, as social media support is often more limited than direct email support.

4. Pinterest Community

The Pinterest Community is a forum and one of the available Pinterest online platforms where users can ask questions and share solutions. Sometimes, the community can help resolve your issue faster than waiting for an official response. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Visit the Pinterest Community: Go to community.pinterest.com.
  2. Search or Browse Topics: You can search for your issue or browse topics to see if someone else has had the same problem.
  3. Ask a Question: If you can’t find an answer, you can post your question. Be clear and straight to the point to increase your chances of getting a helpful response.
  4. Engage with Others: If you see someone else with a problem you’ve solved before, consider helping them out. The community thrives on users helping each other.

5. Pinterest Email Support

Pinterest doesn’t widely advertise an email address for support, as they prefer you to use the Help Center or the support form. However, some users have had success contacting Pinterest via email. Here’s what you can try:

  1. Use the Contact Form: First, try to use the contact form through the Help Center.
  2. Email: If you get an email from Pinterest, you can confirm if they have sent it by checking the email address you’ve received it from. Here are the email addresses Pinterest uses:
    • General topics and news from @info.pinterest.com
    • Account information, like a password reset link, a notification of an email change or website claim and more from @account.pinterest.com
    • Your activity on the Pinterest account, like followers and following, messages, and reactions from @notifications.pinterestmail.com or @notifications.pinterest.com
    • Pins and boards recommendations from @explore.pinterestmail.com, @inspire.pinterestmail.com, @ideas.pinterestmail.com, @explore.pinterest.com@inspire.pinterest.com@ideas.pinterest.com, @sherlock.pinterest.com

What happens after contacting Pinterest Customer Service?

After reaching out to Pinterest, here’s what you can typically expect:

  • Response Time: The time it takes to get a response from Pinterest will depend on several factors. If you use the Help Center or Community, you might find answers immediately. If you submit a support request, expect a reply within a few days. Business accounts may get faster responses, especially for Pinterest ads-related concerns. This is another reason why I recommend you create a Pinterest Business Account instead.
  • Reply from Pinterest: The support team will review your issue and may ask for additional details. Be prepared to provide the following information like screenshots, account information, and a clear description of the problem.

To improve your chances of getting the help you need and resolved, here are some following tips and best practices I can give you when contacting Pinterest help:

  • Be Clear and Straight to the point: When describing your issue, be as clear and specific as possible. This helps the support team understand your problem quickly.
  • Provide Details: Include any relevant details, like screenshots, error messages, or steps you’ve already tried. This can speed up the resolution process.
  • Be Patient: Support teams handle many requests, so it might take a bit of time to get a reply back. You also have to take note that they could be working on specific business hours. Be patient, and avoid sending multiple requests for the same issue.
  • Use the Right Channel: Choose the contact method that best fits your issue. For urgent problems, the support form or business support might be the best option. For general questions, the Help Center or Community could be faster.
