More notes and tips for making crispy chickpeas in the air fryer

Cooking chickpeas in the air fryer is very straightforward and quick. But if you want more tips and notes so that you will not make any mistakes and you can be assured that your chickpeas will get crispy and crunchy chickpeas, then don’t worry, I got you:

  • It is important to cook the chickpeas when they are dry or else, they won’t get crisp and stay crisp for a long time. With this, make sure you rinse the chickpeas and dry them with a paper towel.
  • I would recommend seasoning the chickpeas and adding the oil after you take them out of the air fryer. Seasoning them before you air fry them can result in burnt spices that will not taste good.
  • Try out different seasonings! You can even try just salt and pepper. The sky is the limit with this one.
  • You can also use canned chickpeas but again, make sure you drain and rinse and dry so you can get nice and crispy results.
  • To make extra crispy chickpeas, make sure you spread the chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer and do not overcrowd them or overlap with each other.

How to store air-fried roasted chickpeas

If you have any leftover chickpeas, you can easily store your air-fried roasted chickpeas in a jar or airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

If they turn soft, you can add them back to the air fryer for a few minutes (around 2 to 3 minutes) to make them crispy again.

Why use an air fryer?

I love using an air fryer in cooking any of my meals because you can quickly cook your food without using any oil or deep frying it in oil. You just need a tablespoon of oil or cooking oil spray and you just need to wait for the hot air inside the air fryer to circulate and you are good to go!

Another thing why I love cooking in an air fryer is because the prep time and cleanup time are way shorter and quicker because you will not need to use any additional cooking equipment other than your air fryer and a few bowls or plates!
