Assuming you are planning on going outdoors or setting up camp, you should realize that, as a rule, your supplies and resources in preparing your meals will be limited. However, that doesn’t imply that you should stick with unhealthy and bland meals. A couple of approaches to have tasty meals (most especially breakfast) during outdoor camping is to meal prep ahead or record some easy and healthy recipes you can do outdoors!

You can say goodbye to the hassle of having to bring heavy equipment during camping for the sake of having a good meal. 

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day most especially if you are involved in energy-consuming activities like camping. 

However, the thing with breakfast is it can take a while to prepare and camping usually means you have to move fast and light. 

I remember the first time I went camping with my friends. We had a car so bringing along cooking equipment wasn’t a big deal. However, having to prepare them in the morning got us tired way before our adventure even started. 

I really love the open road. In all my adventures, I eventually learned the best ways to prepare camping breakfast that keeps me full and yet, saves time. 

Here are some of my favorite easy camping breakfast food list:

But there are plenty more recipes where that came from in this blog. After all, we can’t enough packed food during camping. 

What Is The Ideal Camping Breakfast Food

Basically, it’s anything that little preparation. If you can bring food that doesn’t require cooking, that would be great. 

I already mentioned some ideal outdoor breakfast ideas in the first section but below is a more complete list:

  • Vegetables

  • Marshmallow

But that’s not all. It’s also important to pack up on water. You have to stay hydrated after all. 

Being out in the open road means we always have to keep our nutritional needs in check. I went camping a lot of times already to know that people often forget to bring water on the road. This is important because you cannot be dehydrated out there in your camping ground. When this happened to me, it was a disaster because none of my camping mates had any water left and I was parsed. 

I was lucky because my brother happened to be assigned to a town an hour away from our camping ground. I rang him a couple of times about our problem and then he took care of our water problem. 

But it’s not all the time that we can ask for water when going camping. We must prepare everything. 

A Tip On Hydration

Rehydrate. Drink at least four cups of water before going camping. This way, you can bring less water on your trip. 

A good rule of thumb in hydration is to plan for two cups of water for each person per hour. With that, you won’t run out of drinking water supply. 

Make-Ahead Camping Breakfast

 I believe that the best way to prepare camping breakfast would be to make them ahead of time. You can wrap something up at home so that when you get to the camping ground, you can just heat them. This way, you can eat your breakfast as you go along with your camping activities. 

I never thought about this before. I always believed that for camping to be considered real camping, everything has to be done exactly on the camping ground. 

It is absolutely up to your preference but I tried it once and then I never went back to preparing breakfast on the campground ever again. I remember making several breakfast burritos and brought them with me while camping. It made everything a lot easier for me. We were able to leave camp earlier since we just munched on the burritos as we trekked to the woods.

Another reason why I love burritos is that you can make a ton of them and bring them on board so you have enough for both breakfast and snacks. You’ll never go hungry on the road. You can even bring enough so you can share it with the rest of your friends. They can even last for days if you put them in a preservation container. What I love about burritos the most is it’s a  great no-mess camping breakfast alternative.

  • Cook all the filling and let them cool down before mixing them so moisture doesn’t build up. 
  • Don’t add sauces or salsas to prevent your burritos from getting soggy.

It adds variety to the breakfast table. Besides, it’s more fun if we share our food.

The last thing you want is for your friends and family to be turning red out of allergies from whatever food you have that you can no longer identify because of how many meals you prepared.

It is always a good idea to go light during camping. That said, bringing plates that you can easily toss away can come in handy so that you can be versatile on the road.
