Did you know that you can get more Youtube views and subscribers through Pinterest? Aside from that, you can also see more ideas about Youtube videos and other trending topics on the platform!
With that in mind, here is how you can use the full potential of Pinterest and gain more audience and views on your Youtube channel.
How to Promote Youtube on Pinterest
You have to treat Pinterest as a search engine (though a visual-centered one) just like how you treat Google. People on Pinterest go to the platform to find inspiration, DIY tutorials, fashion tips, and more!
And if you have a Youtube channel, then Pinterest would be a great place to promote your video and gain Youtube traffic for free! Here is how you can do it:
Use Video Pins
I would say that one of the most effective ways to promote your Youtube videos on Pinterest is by uploading video pins. Aside from the fact that video pins in general easily get viral and boosted by Pinterest, video pins can easily grab the attention of Pinterest users.
I would recommend clipping an interesting portion of your Youtube video and have the clip duration for about 15-30 seconds. This could be a trailer of some sort that will make Pinterest users curious about what you have to say or show in the video. This in turn will direct them to your Youtube channel.
For Video Pins, Pinterest recommends a ratio that is taller than 1.91:1 and shorter than 1:2. Make sure you also put your Youtube channel name on the video pin itself, on the pin title, and description.
Do not forget to add relevant keywords so that your pin will appear in the recommendations related to your topic.
Upload Image Pins or Idea Pins
You can also promote your Youtube videos on Pinterest by doing image pins or idea pins.
For image pins: you can simply take a photo or your Youtube thumbnail as the pin’s photo and then add a text overlay with a catchy and attention-grabbing title. For image pins, Pinterest recommends a 1:2 ratio or 1000×2000 pixels high-quality pin.
For Idea Pins: In case you did not know, Idea Pins is a multi-page pin featuring up to 20 pages of videos, images, and text in a single Pin. This means that you can post both your Youtube thumbnail or photo and a short clip or teaser of your Youtube video! I would recommend doing this one since it can easily grab and maintain the attention of Pinterest users.
After creating your pin, do not forget to add your Youtube name on the pin itself, on the Pinterest title, description, and of course, on the link. Do not forget to add the pins to relevant boards to boost SEO.
