It is without a doubt that Pinterest is a go-to platform for small and big business owners, content creators, and marketers to promote their products and services. Aside from having your content viewed by many people around the world for free, Pinterest always comes through with new features to help you create your content better and make your Pinterest account grow faster.
However, there are Pinterest marketing strategies and best practices that can make your success on the platform much quicker. And this includes basic social media marketing strategies such as knowing your posting frequency or how many pins per day you should post, and the recommended times in a day.
With that said, in this post, I will be telling you how many times per day it is recommended to upload a Pinterest pin and more tips and strategies to get the best results!

WHEN ARE PEOPLE MOST ACTIVE ON PINTEREST?
You would want to post your content when people are online at the time, right? Or else, no one will be able to appreciate your work. With this, you will want to figure out when the best time your community on Pinterest or users, in general, are most active.
Knowing when users are most active on Pinterest could help you determine which is the best time to post and how often to pin. According to CoSchedule, people who use Pinterest are most likely to go to the website and engage with content posted on the platform between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
For example, if you target an audience in the United States, you could aim to post around 8-9 PM EST (New York) as your pinning time. This is because this is usually the time outside of business hours and when people are usually on their way home or already at their homes with nothing to do.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO POST ON PINTEREST?
Now, moving on to the question regarding the best time of day to post on Pinterest. The best time to reach the majority of Pinterest users (like every social media platform) depends on which geography or particular time zone you target. There is no wrong time technically but there are definitely hours and optimal time where your pins can do much better.
You should definitely aim to post content when Pinterest users are active on the platform. As mentioned above, people usually are more active on Pinterest in a certain time which is around 8-9 PM.
With that said, if you target an audience in Indonesia, you should post or schedule pins around 8-9 PM GMT+7. If you target an audience in the United States, you should post on Pinterest around 8-9 PM Eastern Time Zone, or if you target an audience specifically in California, then you should schedule in the PST time zone.
Following the best days and posting at the right time depending on your audience will greatly help you grow and your pins get more traction.
WHEN ARE THE BEST DAYS TO POST ON PINTEREST
According to CoSchedule, the best days to post are on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. But personally, I still recommend pinning at least one pin a day every day to keep a consistent pinning strategy and engagement. Pin engagements can help Pinterest determine which target audience is right for you.
With posting every day, you can also easily determine and choose the date and time you want that works for your account.
How to find the best time to pin for your account
Finding out the optimal time to post on social media, in general, is to experiment, try, and see the results. The same goes for Pinterest. Yes, I have given you options on when’s the best time to publish Pinterest posts but you can also try and see if there are other hour slots that work best for you.
To know the best times, I suggest posting a few pins in the morning, in the afternoon, then in the evening and seeing how well each pin performs in terms of Pinterest engagement.
Once you find the best times to post content, you have to be consistent with it because keeping a consistent pinning schedule helps Pinterest boost your account or pins more.
There is another method to know the best times of the day or the ideal time to post on Pinterest. It is through Tailwind but I will be talking about that further in the post.
HOW MANY TIMES A DAY SHOULD I POST ON PINTEREST?
The big question users that are new to Pinterest has is usually how often to post on Pinterest or how often should you pin. Pinterest recommends posting at least one new pin per week.
Personally, to see maximum results, I would recommend that you pin fresh content and new pins on the platform every day. That is usually how you can build an active presence on the social media world. This tells Pinterest that you are an active user and is there to stay in the platform.
What I mean by fresh pins are quality pins that are new with new images and new pin designs used. Pinterest wants fresh pins so try to make different variations of a single pin or blog post if you can.
I also recommend publishing 1-5 pins a day. If you are going to post multiple pins a day, make sure that no URL is being used more than once, or else, Pinterest might see it as spam. Pinning 10 pins all in one go can be seen as a spammy activity too so I do not recommend that. If you have a large website with lots of URLs, you could pump up the number of pins to a max of 20-25 pins a day. That includes repinning from other accounts too.
But if you are a new blogger or you do not have much content to make pins of, you do not need to force yourself to daily pinning. Just pin consistently and create content on Pinterest consistently. For example, consistently pin one pin a day or 4 pins a week – make it a habit or a part of your routine.
Consistency is key and creating new pins is one of the best Pinterest strategies you could practice.
HOW DO I GET NOTICED ON PINTEREST?
Now that you know the recommended pin frequency and when to post, it is now time I tell you some Pinterest strategies that I use to further boost my pins and to make my account grow faster.
This can also help you create new pins per day as you will have so much new content to work on.
Create a Business Account
There are so much more benefits Pinterest can give you once you have a Pinterest Business Account. The most important here is how you can see analytics for your pins. With this feature itself, you can determine which pin of yours works best on the platform, and through then, you can replicate the content and improve your content marketing strategies.
Another benefit is that you have access to exclusive features such as using Ads, adding links to pins, connecting your website, and more! And if you have your website claimed on your account since Pinterest knows that you own that website, Pinterest will boost your content more and your account will have less chance of getting flagged for spam.
Creating a business account is easy:
- From the top-right of your screen, click Sign up
- Click Create a business account
- Enter your Email, Create a password and enter your Age
- Click Create account
- Fill out the fields to Build your profile, then click Next
- Fill out the fields to Describe your business, then click Next
- Select if you want to run ads, then click Next
- Select where you’d like to start or click the x icon to go to your new Pinterest business account
Follow Trends
If you often post on social media or you are a content creator on other social media accounts and platforms, you would know how important it is to keep track of what’s trending online. And Pinterest is no different from that. If you’re new to Pinterest and are looking to grow your account and get new followers, then I recommend pinning trending topics that will easily catch users’ interests.
If you have no idea how to look for trends and the best type of content you want to pin on Pinterest, then do not worry because I have here my Pinterest Trends Planner which is a complete Pinterest Marketing Planner to help your account grow.
Aside from giving you the best trends to follow, I also provide a monthly content planner to keep you on track and organized with your content and related posts. Get my Pinterest Trends Planner here.
Post Seasonal Content
This is somewhat related to my previous point but users still tend to forget the importance of posting seasonal content on the platform. You have to know that Pinterest is the go-to place for ideas and inspiration, especially during special occasions. For example, wives and girlfriends usually go on Pinterest to find the best Valentine’s gifts for their partners.
Another is users go to Pinterest to find recipe ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also go on Pinterest to find home decor ideas for spring, fall season, etc. So, it is better to pin seasonal content as consistently as you can.
Upload High-Quality and Eye-Catching Pins
This should be a no-brainer. No one will be convinced to look and click at your pin if it is not attractive. By this, I mean pins that are dark, and blurry, or those that just contain images that are not pleasant to look at.
The pins you should post should be tall and vertical if you want to easily attract the attention of users. I also recommend using bright images with bold text overlays that are easily seen and readable.
If you do not have experience in graphic design or making attractive pins, then I got you. I have here Canva Templates you can use that I personally use on my Pinterest account. Canva is a free graphic design website where you can easily make pins – and I just made the whole process easier for you!
I give you 20 Pinterest Canva Templates that are sure to drive traffic to your Pinterest account and website. Get it here.
Optimize Pins for Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Now that you have your beautiful pins uploaded, the next step for you is to optimize your pins for SEO and add relevant keywords. Pinterest is a visual search engine like Google so keywords are very important to the platform if you want your target audience to see your content in their feed.
Adding keywords isn’t complicated at all. Keywords could be as simple as “healthy recipes”, “Valentine’s gifts for him”, “Christmas DIY”, and the like. I have made several posts on how to optimize your pins effectively as well.

SHOULD YOU USE A PINTEREST SCHEDULER?
I highly recommend using a trusted and official Pinterest scheduler to make your life easier and help you schedule your Pinterest posts. I mean, you have to consistently make new pins and templates, create new blog posts, and then have to manually pin everything yourself. So, to make your workload a little lighter, why not cross off manually pinning off your list?
Tailwind
Tailwind is a Pinterest scheduler acknowledged by Pinterest and which I personally use. Tailwind is part of my time management. It’s batching the content, so you don’t have to come back multiple times a day. It drains a lot of your energy to remember every day, or several times a day, to come back to a platform.
It’s more efficient if you can do it once a week and the rest of the time you’re focused on other tasks. The interface is very user-friendly.
Another feature I love about Tailwind is the Tailwind Smart Schedule. It is a feature that helps you find the best time slots and how often you should post on the platform.
Initially, the Smart Schedule will put some default time slots but once it has studied your constant time slots and pins that were saved, and how many times your pins received engagement or high reach on Pinterest, it can then find your best time slots that work best for your account and content.
Use the Pinterest Native Scheduler
However, on the Pinterest mobile app, you can schedule pins up to 30 days in advance (on mobile).
The Pinterest Native Scheduler can also only schedule up to 100 pins. You can only schedule one Pin at a time using the scheduler as well, meaning the pin will go to only one board.
But if you are new to Pinterest or have only started blogging and you are only posting once or twice a day, then this would be more than enough for you.
The limitation is though that you can’t schedule Idea pins (not on the native Pinterest scheduler and so on any other tools you can’t do it as well).
Canva Pro
A bonus tip. You can use Canva (a graphic design tool) for scheduling pins too. Another benefit of Canva aside from the fact that you can use ready-made templates for your pins there is that you can schedule one pin at a time. However, this feature is only available in their paid plan Canva Pro.
If you find this post useful or want to get back to it later, just save this PIN to your Pinterest blogging board.

Hi Anastasia, thank you for your valuable tips!
I have one question to clarify – when you mention you recommend pinning 20-25 pins a day, does that include my own old pins together with 1-2 fresh pins or only new pins from my website and from other people?
Also, what should be the ratio of my new pins/my old pins/pins from other people?
I will really appreciate your feedback!
Hi Anya! 20-25 pins per day would be the total of repins from others and anything you save from your website. You should always strive to post about 90% of your own pins and can do about 10% of repins from others or even less than that. As of the old pins vs new pins, it’s hard to calculate that ratio but just remember that every pin can be saved to a max of 3 most relevant boards. So you shouldn’t save your old pins too many time, just 3 times with 1 week of intervals and that’s it. Then you need a new pin for the same post.
