You can eat it warm or cold. Whatever you choose, it’s super healthy, delicious and satisfying.

Broccoli soup is one of my favorite soups. I love broccoli. No wonder that I love broccoli soup too. I think all of my family love broccoli soup. It’s one of our favorite soups! It’s perfect for a potluck, large family gathering, or warm cozy dinner with leftovers!

26. Carrots and Ginger Soup

In cold winter days, there’s nothing better than a soup to warm up. And this is just one of the advantages that soup brings us.

Another one is that soup almost makes a meal.

Soup is great for those who are on diet: it helps to quench hunger, we eat less and so we can control weight. Some nutritionists say that, at dinner, you just have to eat a bowl of soup with a slice of bread (preferably rye) with cheese.

But soup it is also very important in children’s diet. Every meal should start with the vegetables, vitamins and, minerals that the soup gives us. Besides, you can keep in the refrigerator or freeze in individual doses what is left over. In my home, my kids always start a meal with soup…

25. Roasted Tomato Soup with Cheddar Cheese

Our roasted tomato soup might be the best homemade soup you’ll try all winter. Pair with a grilled cheese sandwich, and you’re sure to leave lunch smiling.

This warm, roasted tomato soup is perfect for weeknights and weekends alike. Pair this soup with a grilled cheese sandwich, and you’re all set. An immersion blender, one of our favorite kitchen gadgets, makes pureeing this rich and creamy soup a snap. If you don’t have this kitchen tool, try this Southern Living Test Kitchen trick: simply transfer the hot soup in batches to a blender and process until smooth. Fill the blender no more than halfway so steam can escape.

It was delicious! However, I need nutrition facts because I need to watch sodium. Hope to make it next time with less sodium but need to know the count, please. Thank you.

24. Classic French Onion Soup

Enjoy my signature French onion soup the way my granddaughter Becky does: I make onion soup for her in a crock bowl, complete with garlic croutons and gobs of melted Swiss cheese on top.

23. Cheesy Wild Rice Soup

22. Butternut Squash Soup

Butternut squash soup is a winter staple in my household. It’s thick, creamy, cozy, and completely satisfying.

You’ll need to roast the butternut squash until it begins to brown. Then, saute your alliums until fragrant.

If you want the soup to be super thick, then use less veggie broth when you’re blending everything.

Also, cutting the squash can be difficult due to the tough flesh. So you’ll want to use a very sharp knife.

21. Potato Leek Soup

A traditional French winter warmer, one bowl of this will have you dreaming of chilly Paris evenings.

It’s made with aromatic leeks, chunky white potatoes, and savory broth.

Add in a swirl of cream, and you’ll have a luscious, smooth soup that makes you lick every inch of the bowl.

20. Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Plenty of tender veggies, plump barley, and succulent beef: What more could you ask for in a filling, perfect-for-winter soup?

It’s delicious, and it deserves a spot on any true soup lover’s list.

18. Split Pea Soup

This soup is made from mildly flavored split peas and smokey ham hock. Adding fresh thyme and bay leaves will make this dish more flavorful.

No ham hock? Be adventurous and try using bacon. No fresh thyme? The dried version works fine, too.

17. Chicken Noodle Soup

This soup is not only perfect for harsh winter nights. It’s also a nourishing meal for sick days.

Creamy and comforting, stroganoff is the perfect antidote to bleak winter evenings.

But of course, you can make this casserole all year-round, and probably will once you’ve tasted it.
