Why should you eat breakfast?

I am sure you have heard some people who always tell you that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”, and frankly, you should listen to them. Having breakfast right after waking up or a few hours after (ideally before 9 am), jumpstarts your metabolism and breaks the overnight fasting period while you were asleep. Having breakfast boosts your energy levels and helps you stay alert throughout the day. And if you are on a weight loss journey, then having breakfast is a great benefit for you since it can maintain your weight or even promote weight loss. But of course, these will only work if you eat healthy breakfast food. For example, if you are on a weight loss journey, then you may want to focus on fiber and protein foods to help your sugar cravings dissipate. Healthy carbs like whole grains, fruits, veggies, and dairy will also help you kickstart your day by giving you a boost in your energy levels

And if you are someone who just does not have the time to cook up a healthy breakfast in the morning (mainly because you are in a rush to go to work or school), then a solution for this is to meal prep a week or even the night before.

What is the best breakfast for good health?

If you want to get the full benefit of your breakfast, then you should note that you can’t just do anything for breakfast. This includes unhealthy food, processed foods, and junk foods. The best breakfast for good health consists of a nutritious well-balanced meal that has more than enough nutrients to give you energy throughout the day.

Some of the most common and recommended breakfast foods are:

Eggs – Eggs are definitely something you will always see in a breakfast meal. And it’s a good thing because eggs are actually high in protein and several beneficial nutrients. Moreover, if you are on a weight loss journey, eggs can make you feel full immediately while consuming only a few calories.

Oatmeal – Oatmeals are rich in fiber and antioxidants. And like eggs, it can help promote the feeling of fullness which is beneficial if you are on a weight loss journey.

Greek Yogurt – Greek yogurt is high in protein and contains beneficial probiotics. It also helps reduce appetite which is beneficial for weight loss.

Chia seeds – Chia seeds are high in fiber and rich in antioxidants which helps reduce risk diseases.

Berries – Berries are also rich in antioxidants. These are also high in fiber but low in calories.

Fruits – You can never go wrong with fruits. They are a good source of vitamins, fiber, potassium, and antioxidants which helps you keep away from diseases.

Nuts and whole grains – These are rich in healthy fat and nutrients.

These several breakfast foods mentioned are very versatile and can go along with almost any type of meal of food. So, no, you do not have to repeatedly eat boiled eggs every morning. And aside from munching on an apple, why not make a healthy bowl of fruit salad? Remember that your breakfast can be healthy and delicious at the same time.
