What alcohol is good warm?

There are certain cocktails and alcoholic drinks perfect for the summer that will wash the heat away, but how about during wintertime? Are there even alcoholic drinks that will still taste good when served warm? Before we go through that, you must know that alcohol is already in itself a good warming tool. Alcohol dilates blood vessels throughout the body and increases blood flow through the extremities and to the skin. So if you are not a coffee type of person, then some good warm cocktail may just be perfect for you during this cold season.

One most common alcoholic drink that tastes good when warm is red wine. The warming effect of red wine is brought on by the warming thoughts associated with the dark fermented grapes which is one of the body’s natural reactions to the tannins and histamines that are found in the skins of red grapes. And because of this, you will most likely see glasses of red wine served during Christmas parties. Another perfect drink is a rum which has a rich and smooth texture and can be served warm during the cold winter season! Some more alcoholic drinks that are perfect for a long, cold evening are whiskey and tequila which can be mixed with other beverages right in your home!

What is a good alcoholic drink for cold weather?

There are several mixes of alcoholic drink that is perfect for the cold weather so no, you do not necessarily have to take a shot of tequila each time you want to warm yourself up. Here are some classic alcoholic drinks for the winter season:

  • Hot buttered rum. If rum is your favorite alcoholic drink, then you may want to try this classic warm drink. You just need some butter, a dash of salt, brown sugar, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon to taste. Boil it in a water, simmer for 10 minutes, and add rum when pouring into mugs!
  • Hot Toddy. Another most common winter alcoholic drink is a Hot Toddy. You just need to pour hot water onto a whisky or brandy, add some honey, maybe a dash of lemon juice, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and cinnamon stick for garnish, and you are done!
  • Spanish coffee. If you are a coffee and alcohol lover, then why not make a mix of the two? The easiest version of this is simply adding equal parts Tia Maria and rum to coffee, then topping with whipped cream and a cherry.
  • Grog. Another simple drink that you can make! You just need hot water, a few ounces of dark rum, a cinnamon stick, a slice of orange, and just mix it with brown sugar and lime juice to taste!
