How do you steam pumpkins in the instant pot?

If you are craving for a taste of pumpkin but you do not want to wait for hours just to prepare a tasty food out of it, then feel free to steam your pumpkins on your instant pot! You will really just need your pumpkin, instant pot, and a cup of water.

Put your Instant pot’s trivet inside the inner pot and pour over 1 cup of water. Then place the whole unpeeled pumpkin on the trivet.

Lock the lid and turn the steam release vent to ‘sealing’. Under manual setting, adjust it to cook for 15 minutes at high pressure. For smaller pumpkins, set it to about 13 minutes.

When the time is up, open the vent right away.

To test if the pumpkin is thoroughly cooked, slide a small sharp knife through the skin and into the pumpkin – it should slide in very easily.

Once the pumpkin is cooked and chopped up, you can save the seeds and dry them out which makes a great healthy snack!
